Job summary

Cloncurry Shire Council is seeking an experienced Workshop & Fleet Services Supervisor to join our Infrastructure and Environment team. Lead workshop operations, oversee servicing and maintenance across the fleet, plant and equipment, and contribute to safety and reliability in service.

The role is hands-on and involves out-of-hours call-outs, with Locals encouraged to apply. Applications close on 28 October 2026 at 12 PM.

Qualifications

• Qualified mechanical tradesperson with relevant post-trade capabilities.
• Experience in supervising workshop teams and maintenance planning.

Responsibilities

• Plan maintenance programs, allocate workloads, and coordinate breakdown responses.
• Supervise staff, support performance, mentor apprentices and trainees.
• Manage workshop budgets, parts procurement and records.
• Maintain fleet registrations and compliance records.
• Assist plant replacement planning and tender evaluation.
• Implement safe work practices and improve efficiency.
