Job summary

Ventia is seeking a qualified Fitter to join the Defence Maintenance Contract team in Wallangarra, QLD. Work on military hardware with a stable full-time role and excellent training opportunities.

You will inspect, repair and recondition assets, ensuring readiness for training objectives while enjoying a supportive regional team and a balanced lifestyle.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting or Fitter and Machinist) is required.
• Hold a valid Australian Driver’s Licence is required.
• MR or HR Licence is highly desirable.
• Physically fit with the ability to undertake hands-on mechanical work.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance on military equipment, hardware and Defence armaments.
• Safely operate machinery to repair, manufacture or modify required parts.
• Certify plant and equipment as serviceable and fit for purpose.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for a qualified Fitter to join our collaborative and hardworking Defence Maintenance Contract team based in Wallangarra, QLD, just north of Tenterfield, NSW. • $47.58 per hour (inclusive of allowances) +12% super.

About the role

As a Fitter, you will use your highly detailed workmanship to inspect, repair and recondition military hardware. You will provide direct embedded support and work closely with Defence personnel and training activities to ensure hardware is functional and training objectives are achieved.

You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a minimum Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance.
