Job summary

Ventia is seeking a Vehicle Mechanic to support the Australian Defence Force at Amberley, QLD. You will perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy military vehicles, from 4WDs to armoured platforms, ensuring roadworthiness and reliability.

The role requires a Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology, experience with heavy vehicles, and a current Australian Class C license. Australian citizenship and baseline security clearance are mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Conduct maintenance tasks, including technical inspections and classifications.
• Repair or replace worn or faulty parts by removing assemblies such as engines, transmissions and differentials.
• Reassemble, test, clean and adjust repaired or replaced parts.
• Carry out minor body and trim repairs.
• Test and repair electrical systems, including lighting, ignition and electronic fuel injection.
• Inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates.

An exciting opportunity exists for a Vehicle Mechanic to join our Defence Maintenance Contract team based in Amberley, QLD.

As a Vehicle Mechanic, you will perform routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of heavy military vehicles and equipment, from 4WDs and trucks through to tracked and armoured vehicles, infantry personnel carriers and tanks.

About The Role

About You

• Hold a Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology or an equivalent qualification.
• Demonstrate experience inspecting, repairing and maintaining light, medium and heavy vehicles.
• Hold a current Australian Class C driver's licence.

You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a minimum Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance.
