Job summary

Our client, a respected ASX-listed financial services organisation in Sydney, is looking for a Financial Accountant to join the Financial Control team. The role covers financial accounting, statutory reporting, regulatory requirements and robust financial control in a fast-paced environment.

You will report to a senior member of the Financial Control team and support timely financial reporting across the business.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CA or CPA qualified or studying toward qualification.
• 3–5+ years' experience in accounting and financial reporting.
• Strong month-end and reconciliation experience.
• Solid technical accounting knowledge and standards.
• Experience in statutory/regulatory reporting.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive and collaborative approach.
• Financial services experience is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end accounting and reporting processes.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support statutory financial statement preparation and regulatory reporting.
• Assist with regulatory and prudential reporting.
• Support tax and statutory lodgements.
• Coordinate external audit requirements.
• Investigate variances and provide financial analysis.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and policies.
• Contribute to finance projects and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Finance and the wider business.
