Job summary

KeyInvest, a long-standing APRA-regulated friendly society, is seeking a Financial Accountant to join the Accounting Services team. You will prepare monthly management accounts, assist with statutory reporting, and support investment accounting in a collaborative finance function.

You will work under the Financial Controller, contributing to regulatory reporting, BAS/FBT/GST, and internal/external audits while expanding your knowledge across management accounting and investments in a financial

Qualifications

• A degree in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years’ experience in an accounting role or public practice.
• Experience in financial services.
• CPA, CA or other relevant postgraduate qualification, or working towards one.
• Intermediate or above Excel skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders across levels of the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts including P&L, Balance Sheet and variance analysis.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and other account reconciliations.
• Prepare accruals and adjustment journals.
• Analyse accounting data and identify reporting improvements.
• Calculate and reconcile investment-related movements and trading results.
• Prepare investment portfolio reports and annual fee calculations for Benefit Funds.
• Assist with year-end statutory accounts and liaise with auditors.
• Prepare BAS, FBT and GST reporting.
• Support capital adequacy reporting and APRA and ABS returns.
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and provide financial support to management.
