Job summary

NACBA in Sydney seeks a Regulatory Accountant to support APRA prudential and financial reporting in a highly regulated environment. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders across Finance, Treasury, Risk and Technology to deliver accurate reporting and drive continuous process improvement.

You will contribute to governance, controls and data quality initiatives, and help automate manual reporting activities, while supporting board reporting and head office submissions in a six-month

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualification required.
• Experience in financial or regulatory reporting in banking/financial services.
• Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards and IFRS.
• Exposure to APRA prudential or regulatory reporting is highly regarded.
• Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical capability.
• Experience with large datasets and reporting systems.
• Exposure to SQL or Python or other data tools is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare regulatory returns and ensure reporting obligations are delivered accurately and on time.
• Assist with statutory and financial reporting, including periodic financial statements and board reporting.
• Prepare head office reporting and maintain supporting documentation.
• Support interpretation of regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
• Maintain detailed working papers and audit evidence.
• Respond to regulatory/audit inquiries with internal stakeholders.
• Partner with Finance, Treasury, Risk and Technology to improve reporting processes and data quality.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting activities and improve operational efficiency.
• Contribute to finance projects focused on governance, controls and continuous improvement.
