Job summary

Torus Group is seeking a Finance Systems Project Support Officer on a 2-year fixed term contract to join our Finance Systems team. You will assist with project delivery, system enhancements, documentation, and reporting to improve finance processes across the organisation.

The role involves supporting testing, data validation, change control, and user training, with opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement while collaborating across Finance and the wider business.

Qualifications

• AAT Level 3 or equivalent qualification, or currently working towards a finance or business qualification.
• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
• Experience supporting administrative, finance, systems or project activities, including maintaining records, reports or project documentation.
• Experience using financial or business systems, with strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and Teams.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise your workload and adapt to changing priorities.
• Good attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a customer-focused approach to service delivery.
• A willingness to learn new systems and processes and continue developing your skills.
• Experience working with data and identifying issues or discrepancies, and an understanding of finance processes and controls, would be beneficial.
• Ability to travel to our Liverpool, St Helens and Warrington offices, including HMS Stonebridge, as required in line with business needs.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of finance systems projects and process improvement initiatives.
• Assist with gathering business requirements and documenting system and process changes.
• Support user acceptance testing (UAT), system reconciliations and the validation of financial data.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including action and risk logs, testing records and implementation plans.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of finance reports and management information.
• Support the administration of finance system controls, user access permissions and workflows.
• Help keep procedures and process documentation accurate and up to date.
• Review existing processes and help identify opportunities for greater efficiency and automation.
• Support training activities by helping to prepare user guides, training materials and process documentation.
• Liaise with colleagues to understand system issues, process challenges and training requirements.
• Support compliance with financial policies, procedures, internal controls and audit requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across Finance Systems.
