Job summary

Colac Otway Shire Council is seeking a finance professional to provide operational finance support across a broad range of activities. You will handle daily bank reconciliations, processing, month-end support and accounts payable functions to keep financial operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Experience in finance administration, accounts payable, bookkeeping or similar roles.
• A sound understanding of accounting and finance principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and data entry accuracy.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Great communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Daily bank reconciliations and financial processing.
• Supporting month-end finance activities.
• Assisting with accounts payable, supplier maintenance and payment runs.
• Processing procurement card transactions and credit notes.
• Supporting GST, FBT and other taxation-related reporting.
• Providing backup support for Accounts Payable and assisting across the wider Finance team.

What you'll be doing

You'll provide operational finance support across a broad range of activities, including:

• Daily bank reconciliations and financial processing
• Supporting month-end finance activities
• Assisting with accounts payable, supplier maintenance and payment runs
• Processing procurement card transactions and credit notes
• Supporting GST, FBT and other taxation-related reporting
• Providing backup support for Accounts Payable and assisting across the wider Finance team as needed

What you'll bring

Salary information: $71,667.44 to $75,515.44 per annum plus superannuation
