Responsibilities

• Complete daily receipting and banking tasks with accurate postings.
• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations and resolve differences.
• Validate transactions and approvals for completeness and correct coding.
• Maintain accurate general ledger through reviews and allocations.
• Support reporting, budgeting, audits, FBT, creditors, debtors, banking and insurance, and promote compliant finance processes.

At "The Shire", Accountability, Collaboration and Trust guide how we work. We are looking for a methodical finance professional who confidently takes pride in accuracy and enjoys reconciliations, receipting payments correctly and confirming approvals are complete.
With the following key accountabilities:

• Complete daily receipting and banking tasks, ensuring payments are recorded promptly, accurately and against the correct accounts.
• Work through daily and monthly bank reconciliations, investigate differences and follow each item through to a clean resolution.
• Check transactions and approvals for completeness, correct coding and supporting documentation before processing.
• Maintain accurate general ledger records through regular transaction reviews, reconciliations and allocation checks.
• Support reporting, budgeting, audits, Fringe Benefits Tax, creditors, debtors, banking and insurance, while helping colleagues follow clear and compliant finance processes.

You will be well suited to this role if you enjoy structured work, spot the details others miss and can demonstrate:

• Relevant accounting or finance experience, supported by a TAFE certificate or similar qualification.
• Hands-on experience with high-volume receipting, bank reconciliations and transaction or approval checking.
• A careful, organised approach and the focus to complete recurring tasks accurately, on time and to a consistently high standard.
• Strong analytical skills, confidence investigating discrepancies and proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Clear communication and the ability to interpret legislation, accounting standards and policies; local government and TechnologyOne experience will be highly regarded.
