Job summary

Spirax Sarco Australia is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our Victorian Services Team. Based in Victoria, you will deliver on-site technical service, maintenance, commissioning and support to customers across metropolitan and regional sites.

You will troubleshoot steam systems, install and repair equipment, generate quotations, build customer relationships and travel throughout Victoria. A trade qualification and current Australian driver's licence are essential, with access to a

• Requires trade qualification in a relevant mechanical discipline.
• Experience in field service, maintenance, or industrial environments preferred.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills and practical problem solving.
• Excellent communication and customer relationship abilities.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform steam trap audits and prepare client reports.

You’ll play a key role in helping customers improve plant reliability, efficiency, and performance across a wide range of industries.

About the Role

Based in Victoria, you will provide technical service, maintenance, commissioning, and support to customers across metropolitan and regional locations.

This role combines technical expertise with customer interaction, making it perfect for someone who enjoys variety, troubleshooting equipment, and delivering exceptional service outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, test, and repair steam and process equipment
• Commission Spirax Sarco products and engineered solutions
• Perform Steam Trap Audits and prepare customer reports
• Conduct steam quality and purity testing
• Assemble products and customised equipment packages
• Generate quotations based on audit findings and service activities
• Develop and maintain strong customer relationships
• Identify opportunities and provide sales leads to Territory Managers
• Coordinate and supervise contractors when required
• Travel throughout Victoria, including regional customer sites

About You

You are a practical, customer‑focused professional who enjoys working independently while being part of a supportive team.

To Be Successful, You Will Have

• Trade qualification in a relevant discipline such as:
  • Mechanical Fitter
  • Fitter & Turner
  • Fitter/Machinist
  • Plumber
  • Electrician
  • Boilermaker
  • Or a similar mechanical trade
• Experience in field service, maintenance, manufacturing, or industrial environments
• Strong mechanical aptitude and fault‑finding skills
• Excellent communication and customer relationship skills
• Competency with Microsoft Outlook and Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Current Australian Driver's Licence
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards

Highly Regarded

• QA experience
• Welding experience
• Exposure to steam systems, valves, pumps, or industrial process equipment
