Job summary

Matthews Australasia Pty Ltd is seeking a Field Service & Installation Technician to install, maintain, and support industrial equipment, software, and data capture systems across customer sites in Australia. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose issues, train operators, and ensure safety and documentation are up to date.

The role involves after-hours support rosters and regional travel. A current driver’s licence and the ability to travel are required, with opportunities for

Qualifications

• Experience in field service, equipment maintenance, installation, or technical support.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Qualifications in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical, or related discipline preferred but not essential.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and configure equipment at customer sites.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to maximise reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues with a strong first-time fix rate.
• Train customer operators on equipment use and best practices.
• Complete service reports and documentation accurately and on time.
• Manage vehicle stock and spare parts inventory.
• Provide technical feedback to support product and process improvements.
• Participate in an after-hours support roster and occasional regional travel.
• Maintain compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.

You’ll help customers keep operations running smoothly through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, commissioning, and training, while delivering exceptional customer service.
