Job summary

Galactic Co-operative is seeking a Field Service Engineer based in Perth to service and repair a broad range of laboratory equipment at customer sites and in the workshop. You will join a small, close-knit team and report to the Lead Physicist, with typical hours Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities include installation, maintenance, customer training, and remote support. A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant science or engineering field and a valid driver’s license are required, along with full

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, physics, engineering or relevant field.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with scientific instruments and components.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic and optical systems.
• Experience with analytical techniques such as AAS, ICP-MS, FTIR or GC.
• Strong written and oral communication.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel onsite.
• Full working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Repair and install scientific equipment.
• Schedule and perform regular maintenance.
• Provide basic training for customers.
• Handle complex issues and problems.
• Provide remote technical support via phone or email.
• Assist with invoicing and other office tasks.
