Job summary

Permobil Australia is seeking a Field Sales Support professional to assist therapists, service partners and Territory Managers. You will diagnose and repair power wheelchairs and related devices, coordinate trials, prepare quotes and provide technical guidance to customers.

In this hands‑on role based in Sydney, you will work with a collaborative team to deliver high‑quality support while upholding Permobil’s safety and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification.
• Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong technical aptitude and interest in how products work.

Responsibilities

• Respond to technical enquiries from therapists, end users, service partners, funding providers and funders.
• Coordinate and deliver trial equipment across the local area.
• Diagnose and repair power wheelchairs, power‑assist devices and other products within agreed service timeframes.
• Provide technical and programming support to customers.
• Assist with spare parts, servicing and repair enquiries.
• Identify the correct parts required for servicing and repairs.
• Prepare accurate and complete quotes for products, spare parts and services.
• Set up equipment for product demonstrations and customer trials.
• Provide clear product guidance and training to customers.
• Process warranty assessments and product returns.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date service, warranty and quotation records.
• Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, Product Management, suppliers and other internal teams to resolve more complex technical enquiries.
• Maintain tools and service equipment in good working order.
• Follow Permobil’s quality, safety and compliance requirements.

In this hands‑on position, you will work closely with customers, therapists, service partners and Territory Managers, providing responsive technical support and practical solutions across Permobil’s product range.

From diagnosing and basic repairs to coordinating equipment trials, deliveries, quotes and product training, you will help ensure our customers receive knowledgeable, professional and high‑quality support.

What we’re looking for

• A relevant tertiary qualification.

• A current Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain one.

• Strong technical aptitude and an interest in learning how products work.

• Experience in technical support, product support or assistive technology, although this is desirable rather than essential.

• Basic troubleshooting, problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills.

• A strong commitment to providing an excellent customer experience.

• A calm, professional and solutions‑focused approach to customer enquiries.

• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

• The confidence to demonstrate products and deliver engaging training.

• Good computer skills and experience using common business applications.
