Job summary

AECI Limited is seeking a Blast Technician to support on-site blasting operations across Queensland. You will drive drill-and-blast optimisation, deliver training on IntelliShot and other systems, and provide technical solutions to site teams, with potential domestic and international travel.

The role includes managing product applications, QA/QC checks, and reporting. AECI requires a relevant blast engineering background, training qualifications, and a valid Shotfirer’s licence, with travel as

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Blast engineer or equivalent (desirable).
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
• Minimum 5 years’ practical experience in drill and blasting operations.
• Experience delivering product applications, training and competency.
• Current or ability to obtain knowledge of AECI product applications.
• Hold Queensland Explosive Security Clearance.
• Hold or ability to obtain NSW Explosive security clearance UHL.
• Hold and maintain QLD Shotfirer’s licence.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Proficient with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook; comfortable with technical software.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally where required.

Responsibilities

• Identify, design and implement operational and technical drill-and-blast optimisation projects.
• Provide technical blasting support and solutions to customers and site teams.
• Manage and optimise product application; identify and resolve software and hardware issues.
• Deliver training and competency assessments for IntelliShot and other systems.
• Monitor blasting performance, conduct QA/QC checks and product testing.
• Prepare clear technical reports and performance summaries for internal and customer use.
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders.
