Job summary

Impact Drill & Blast is expanding its South Queensland team and seeking full-time blast crew members in Toowoomba with occasional overnight travel. The role focuses on delivering safe, efficient blasting services to quarry, construction, and forestry clients.

Ideal candidates will have a manual driving license, strong computer skills, and the physical fitness to work in demanding environments, with opportunities for career development within MPU operating, shotfiring, or drilling.

Qualifications

• Australian Open Class manual driving license required.
• Proficiency with computers and operating systems.
• Physical agility for extended walking, lifting and bending.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to pass a national police check.
• Successful completion of a medical and Drug & Alcohol assessment.
• Desirable experience in quarry or mining industry.

Responsibilities

• Engage in physically demanding work on blasting sites.
• Establish exclusion zones with proper signage.
• Follow blast-site instructions from shotfirer or supervisor.
• Maintain site and equipment cleanliness.
• Uphold Impact's safety culture and standards in the area.
• Perform other duties as directed by supervisor/manager.

Impact Drill & Blast offers integrated drill and blast services, offering full Rock on Ground capabilities covering every stage of the project from survey, blast design, markout, drilling and bulk explosives supply to firing of blasts. With over 30 years' experience, we service clients who work in the civil, mining and quarrying sectors.

About this Opportunity

Our company is in the midst of rapid expansion in the industry, and we are excited to offer opportunities within our South Queensland team for full time blast crew positions. These roles are pivotal in delivering top-tier blasting services to our quarry, construction, and forestry clients. While these positions are primarily based in Toowoomba, overnight travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage in physically demanding work.
• Establish exclusion zones with appropriate signage.
• Follow all instructions on the blast site from the shotfirer and/or supervisor.
• Ensure site and equipment cleanliness.
• Uphold Impact's safety culture and standards in the designated area.
• Perform any other duties as required by a supervisor/manager from time to time.

The Successful Applicant Will Have:

• Australian Open Class manual driver's license.
