Job summary

AECI Australia is seeking Assistant Shotfirers / Bench Hands to join our Blast Services team at Rolleston Mine. This role requires blasting experience, reliability and a safety-first mindset, operating on a 7 days on / 7 days off, 12hr dayshift roster.

You will support Shotfirers and crew in priming, loading, stemming and firing blast holes, operate stemming trucks, and help maintain equipment to ensure safety and productivity.

Qualifications

• Blasting experience including priming, loading, off-siding MPUs and stemming.
• Current or ability to obtain Queensland Explosives Security Clearance.
• RII qualifications in Support Shotfiring Operations and Store, Handle and Transport of Explosives.
• Current HR Licence or commitment to obtain within 5 months.
• Standard 11 Generic Induction.
• Current or ability to obtain a Coal Board Medical (including drug and alcohol testing).
• Experience operating stemming trucks.
• Strong communication skills, with a reliable, team-oriented and safety-first mindset.

About the Role

AECI Australia is seeking Assistant Shotfirers / Bench Hands to join our Blast Services team at Rolleston Mine. This position is suited to individuals who demonstrate not only the required blasting experience, but also reliability, a strong work ethic and a genuine commitment to safety and teamwork.

Working a 7 days on / 7 days off, 12hr dayshift-only roster, you will play a key role in supporting the Shotfirer and blast crew to deliver safe, reliable and efficient blasting operations and results. The Successful Applicant will possess:

Previous blast experience - including priming, loading, off-siding MPUs and stemming.

Current or ability to obtain a Queensland Explosives Security Clearance.

RII qualifications in Support Shot firing Operations and Store, Handle and Transport of Explosives.

Current HR Licence (or commitment to obtain within first 5 months - condition of employment).

Standard 11 Generic Induction.

Current or ability to obtain a Coal Board Medical (including drug and alcohol testing).

Experience operating stemming trucks (highly regarded).

Strong communication skills, with a reliable, team-oriented and safety-first mindset.
