Job summary

PeopleSense by Altius is seeking a field-based psychologist to provide immediate psychological support to workplaces after distressing events. You will join a specialist, well-supported team delivering first aid, stabilisation, and recovery-focused care onsite and via telehealth.

Ideal candidates are registered with AHPRA, experienced with trauma presentations, and capable of delivering psychoeducation to large groups. Travel to regional locations, including overnights, is required.

Qualifications

• Registered psychologist with AHPRA (General Registration) is required.
• Comfortable working with trauma, distress, or acute presentations.
• Able to stay grounded and communicate clearly under pressure.
• Willingness to travel regionally including overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate psychological support to workplaces following distressing or traumatic events.
• Deliver psychological first aid onsite or via telehealth.
• Provide individual and group support focused on stabilisation and recovery.
• Offer practical guidance to managers navigating complex workplace situations.
• Coordinate follow-up care and continuity planning for impacted employees.
• Deliver group psychoeducation sessions on reactions to trauma, loss and stress.
• Contribute to EAP counselling and wellbeing initiatives as needed.
• Occasional assessment work.
