Job summary

CSIRO’s Sparked Australian FHIR Accelerator seeks a Technical Analyst to support digital healthcare infrastructure nationwide. You will assist in testing, issue resolution, automation and frontline support, contributing to HL7 FHIR implementation guides and related infrastructure.

You will work in a small, dispersed technical team, delivering documentation, handling service health checks and coordinating with stakeholders across Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra or Melbourne as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, health informatics or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated experience in a technical analysis, testing, technical support or software development role, including investigating and resolving technical issues independently and reaching evidence-based conclusions from incomplete information.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including documenting technical findings and procedures clearly and explaining technical issues to people with a range of technical backgrounds.
• Working knowledge of RESTful APIs, HTTP and JSON or XML, at least one scripting or programming language (for example Python, TypeScript or Java), and git.
• Demonstrated ability to work under limited direction, including organising own workload, managing competing priorities, making sound decisions within an area of responsibility, knowing when to escalat, and acting on feedback.
• Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders in a regionally dispersed, multi-disciplinary team.
• Demonstrated interest in digital health and a commitment to learning HL7 FHIR and related health standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line support to the Sparked community through Jira Service Management, GitHub and chat.fhir.org, triaging and resolving issues and escalating complex matters as required.
• Support the development and maintenance of accurate test data aligned with current HL7 AU specifications through automation, documentation and repository administration.
• Undertake acceptance testing of Inferno test kit releases, analysing test failures and documenting identified issues.
• Support the quality assurance and publication of implementation guides through validation, defect correction, issue documentation and release checks.
• Develop and maintain clear, accessible technical and operational documentation for Sparked tools and services.
• Provide routine operational support, including service health checks, monitoring, planned updates, issue tracking and reporting on service availability, usage and support trends.
