Job summary

Embrace Community Care Pty Ltd is seeking a compassionate Female Disability Support Worker for Orchard Hills, NSW. You will provide person-centred support with complex needs, assisting with daily living, personal care, and community participation.

The role requires empathy, patience, and a commitment to dignity, safety and wellbeing, while following individual support plans in partnership with the family and support team.

Qualifications

• Able to communicate clearly with participants and families and document notes accurately.
• Demonstrates respect for participant rights, privacy, and safeguarding.
• Experience working with people with complex support needs is highly desirable.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates are required.
• NDIS checks and clearances are mandatory for employment.
• Willingness to follow individual support plans and professional directions.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support to a participant with complex needs.
• Assist with personal care, daily living activities, meal prep and household tasks.
• Support community access, recreation, and social engagement.
• Offer emotional support and build a positive, respectful relationship with the participant.
• Follow individualised support plans and behaviour guidance where required.
• Maintain dignity, privacy, safety, and wellbeing at all times.
• Recognise changes in needs/behaviour and respond appropriately.
• Complete shift notes, incident reports, and required documentation.
• Collaborate with family, support team, and professionals.
• Adhere to Embrace Community Care policies, NDIs requirements, and relevant laws.

Embrace Community Care is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Female Disability Support Worker to join our team in Orchard Hills, NSW. This role is suited to someone who has a genuine passion for supporting people with disability and has the confidence, patience, and experience to work with complex support needs. You will provide person-centred support while promoting the participant’s independence, dignity, safety, and wellbeing.

About The Role

• Provide person-centred support to a participant with complex support needs.
• Assist with personal care, daily living activities, meal preparation, and household tasks.
• Support community access, recreational activities, and social engagement.
• Provide emotional support and build a positive, respectful relationship with the participant.
• Follow individualised support plans and behaviour support strategies where required.
• Maintain the participant’s dignity, privacy, safety, and wellbeing at all times.
• Recognise and respond appropriately to changes in the participant’s needs and behaviour.
• Complete accurate shift notes, incident reports, and other required documentation.
• Work collaboratively with the participant, family, support team, and other professionals.
• Follow Embrace Community Care policies, procedures, NDIS requirements, and relevant legislation.

What We’re Looking For

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Previous experience in disability support, aged care, mental health, or a related sector.
• Experience supporting clients with complex support needs is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A calm, patient, and compassionate approach.

• A genuine commitment to promoting independence and quality of life.
• Ability to follow support plans, policies, and professional directions.
• Strong understanding of participant rights, dignity, privacy, and safeguarding.

• Valid Australian driver’s licence.
