Job summary

Ambition Health Group is seeking compassionate, reliable and experienced Disability Support Workers to provide high-quality, person-centred support.

The role involves assisting with personal care, mobility, meals and medication, following each client's care plan while promoting independence, dignity and client choice. Mandarin speaking and current certifications are desirable and a respectful, confidential approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent.
• Experience with physical support needs.
• Competency in complex bowel care and urinary catheter care.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• Working with Children Check.
• Current driver's licence, if required.
• Manual handling training and experience using hoists and other mobility equipment.
• Current Flu vaccination.
• Current Police check.

Responsibilities

• Providing personal care and assistance with daily living activities.
• Supporting transfers, repositioning and mobility using appropriate equipment.
• Assisting with showering, dressing, grooming and toileting.
• Supporting meal preparation and feeding as required.
• Assisting with medication in accordance with the client's support plan.
• Assisting the client with urinary catheter and leg bag care, including emptying and monitoring the leg bag as required.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
• Following the client's individual care plan, manual-handling procedures and health and safety requirements.
• Communicating respectfully with the client, family members and other members of the support team.
• Recognising and appropriately reporting any changes in the client's condition or wellbeing.

Essential / Desirable Requirements

• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent
• Previous experience with physical support needs.
• Experience and demonstrated competency in complex bowel care and urinary catheter care, with a strong commitment to safe, respectful and person-centred support.
• Mandarin speaking
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
