Job summary

Astute Living Care is seeking a compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to assist clients with psychosocial disabilities in Sydney and surrounding areas. You will provide emotional and practical support, help with daily living activities, and assist with community participation.

This role requires flexibility for varied hours and travel across locations. The ideal candidate will be enrolled in a Psychology or Social Work program, hold relevant checks, and commit to ongoing training and

• Lived experience is highly valued and encouraged to apply.
• Currently enrolled in a Psychology or Social Work program (acceptable).
• Diploma in Mental Health or higher qualification preferred.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including shorter shifts.
• Valid NDIS Worker Check, Working with Children Check (WWCC) and First Aid/CPR.
• Mental Health First Aid Certificate (optional).
• Valid Australian driver's license and access to own reliable transportation.
• Must have valid Australian work rights for this position.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
• Assist with community participation and appointment support
• Implement individual support plans in consultation with participants and their families/care team
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client progress and provide reports as required
• Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including treating doctors, psychologists, and social workers
• Participate in ongoing training and development activities to enhance skills and knowledge
