Job summary

United Foundation in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs is seeking an in-home care support worker to assist a participant in Lawson and nearby NDIs, with a rotating roster and potential transition to permanent part-time.

This casual role requires strong communication, empathy, and flexibility, with 24/7 availability including sleepovers; training and ongoing upskilling are provided, plus staff wellbeing support and employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–6 months experience in home/community care or related fields.
• Cert III/IV in Disability or Aged Care preferred.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check and First Aid required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with grooming, toileting, meal prep, medication administration, and household tasks.
• Provide companionship and support to participants, respecting privacy.
• Follow personal plans and report changes to care teams.
• Support multiple clients in Lawson area with rotating roster including sleepovers.

About the Role

Be the key support for one of our lovely participants around Lawson area, while also assisting a small group of nearby NDIS clients to build independence, achieve their goals, and improve their quality of life. This role follows a rotating roster, with strong availability required 24/7 care available and including sleepovers, plus flexibility for afternoon and overnight shifts as needed.

Diverse Duties: Assist with grooming, toileting, meal preparation, medication administration, and household tasks.

Person-Centred Support: Provide companionship and emotional support, respecting client preferences and privacy.

Adherence & Reporting: Accurately follow individual support and health plans, and promptly report any concerns or changes in participant condition.

About You

The ideal candidate will be energetic, motivated, and adaptable, with a warm, engaging approach to person-centred care. Strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to supporting meaningful, active daily routines are essential.

Minimum 3-6 months experience OR Cert III/IV in Disability, Aged Care, or other related fields is highly desirable

Experience working in in-home or community care settings or family member

Strong communication skills and ability to set professional boundaries

NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid Certificate, Driver’s Licence, and access to an insured vehicle
