Job summary

Waverley Council is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to lead maintenance, renewal and compliance across a diverse portfolio of community facilities in Sydney. The role combines people leadership, financial management and technical know-how to safeguard building safety and service quality for the community.

You will oversee annual maintenance, capital renewal planning and WHS compliance, while managing procurement and budgets to deliver best value and excellent customer service across

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications or substantial equivalent experience.
• Proven experience with capital renewal, maintenance programs, WHS compliance.
• Strong procurement and contract management experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; stakeholder liaison.
• High-level computer literacy and familiarity with asset management.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise Facilities team in delivering the annual maintenance program and statutory plant maintenance.
• Develop and deliver an annual capital renewal program aligned to Council's Asset Management Plan.
• Own WHS due diligence obligations for building compliance and record keeping.
• Procure and manage maintenance service contracts per policy, ensuring best value.
• Develop facilities maintenance budgets and provide timely financial reports.
• Foster continuous improvement and high levels of customer service in the team.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, procurement standards and deadlines.
