Job summary

Mondiale VGL Pty is seeking an Export Operator to own the LCL export portfolio. In this role you will manage shipments from client booking through invoicing, ensuring cargo, paperwork and customers move in sync.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in freight forwarding, including sea exports, and is proficient in CargoWise One (CW1). The position requires working from the Sydney office four days per week to support a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in freight forwarding, with at least 6 months in sea exports.
• Proficient in CargoWise One (CW1) and able to navigate from booking to invoicing.
• Available to work from the office 4 days per week to collaborate with the team.

Responsibilities

• Booking and co-loader management: Accept client bookings and place them with co-loaders; secure space and keep cargo moving.
• Shipment registration: Register shipments accurately so every job is tracked from day one.
• Export customs: Lodge export declarations and manage EDN processing; ensure on-schedule departures.
• LCL transport coordination: Arrange LCL transport from pickup to port/CFS; coordinate with carriers and clients.
• Export documentation: Prepare full export documents set (HBL, MBL, Manifest, FI, Pre-alert).
• Invoicing: Raise invoices for completed shipments and close out jobs accurately.

Job Description

Our LCL export portfolio is expanding, and we’re looking for a capable, detail-driven Export Operator to take ownership of it. You’ll manage shipments from the moment a client books through to final invoicing, keeping cargo, paperwork and customers moving in sync.

What you’ll be doing

Booking and co-loader management

• Accept client bookings and place them with our co-loaders
• Build strong working relationships with co-loaders to secure space and keep cargo moving

Shipment registration

• Register shipments accurately in our system so every job is tracked from day one

Export customs

• Lodge export customs declarations and manage EDN processing
• Keep every shipment compliant and clear to depart on schedule

LCL transport coordination

• Arrange LCL transport to move cargo from pick-up through to the port or CFS
• Liaise with carriers and clients to confirm timings and handle any changes

Export documentation

• Prepare the full export document set, including:
  • House Bill of Lading (HBL)
  • Master Bill of Lading (MBL)
  • Manifest
  • FI
  • Pre-alert
• Make sure documents are accurate, timely and sent to the right parties

Invoicing

• Raise invoices for completed shipments, capturing all relevant charges
• Close out each job cleanly so billing is accurate and timely

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the freight forwarding industry, including at least 6 months in sea exports
• CargoWise One (CW1) experience. This is essential. You’ll be working in CW1 every day, so you need to be confident navigating it from booking through to invoicing
• The ability to work from our office 4 days per week. We value the collaboration, quick problem-solving and team culture that come from working side by side
