St Basil’s Homes (SA) is seeking passionate Personal Care Workers to support older adults with respectful, person-centred care across a diverse community. Casual or permanent part-time opportunities are available, offering flexible shifts and a supportive team environment.

You will join our Christie Downs site to provide compassionate care, tailored to each resident’s needs and heritage. The role emphasizes collaboration with clinical and non-clinical leaders, preserving residents’ independence

Qualifications

• Previous experience in aged care or personal care.
• Availability across morning and afternoon shifts, with capacity to provide cover during September and October.
• Ability to work with residents from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Genuine passion for helping older people maintain independence and wellbeing.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Formal qualifications in Aged Care, Disability, or Community Services (Certificate III or IV in Individual Support or equivalent preferred).
• National Police Clearance (or willingness to undertake).
• NDIS Clearance (or willingness to undertake – specific to our St Peters site).
• Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality personal care and support to residents according to individual care plans.
• Assist with activities of daily living including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, mobility, and mealtime support.
• Encourage and facilitate resident participation in social and recreational activities.
• Communicate effectively and empathetically with residents, families, and staff with cultural sensitivity.
• Observe and report changes in health, wellbeing, or behaviour to clinical staff.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure high standard of care and uphold privacy, dignity, and choice.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Personal Care Worker to join our team at our Christie Downs site. In this role, you will provide compassionate, person-centred care to residents, supporting their individual needs, preferences, and wellbeing.

Your commitment to helping older people maintain their independence, dignity, and connection to their heritage will be highly valued. A key part of this position will be working collaboratively in a dynamic ‘house’ team environment (led by our clinical and non-clinical leaders), where courtesy and kindness, underpin everything that we do.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality personal care and support to residents in accordance with their individual care plans.
• Assist with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, mobility, and mealtime support.
• Encourage and facilitate resident participation in social and recreational activities.
• Communicate effectively and empathetically with residents, families, and staff demonstrating sensitivity to cultural differences and preferences.
• Observe and report any changes in residents’ health, wellbeing, or behaviour to clinical staff.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standard of care is provided at all times.
• Uphold residents’ rights to privacy, dignity, and choice.

About You

You will have:

• Previous experience working in an aged care or personal care setting
• Extensive availability across morning and afternoon shifts is essential, along with the capacity to provide leave coverage during September and October.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues and residents from diverse cultural backgrounds
• A genuine passion for supporting older people to live well and maintain their independence.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Formal qualifications in Aged Care, Disability, or Community Services (Certificate III or IV in Individual Support or equivalent preferred).
• National Police Clearance (or willingness to undertake).
• NDIS Clearance (or willingness to undertake – specific to our St Peters site)
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and public holidays as needed.
