Job summary

Tiny Mountain Brewery is seeking a qualified Cook to join our team in Townsville. This permanent, full-time role requires a self-motivated, English-speaking individual to prepare and cook food to a high standard in a fast-paced kitchen.

The successful candidate will hold Cert III or IV in Commercial Cookery and at least two years’ experience, with strong attention to detail and excellent communication and teamwork to support kitchen operations.

Qualifications

• Cert III and/or Cert IV in Commercial Cookery.
• Minimum of 2 years’ work experience as a Cook.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multifaceted kitchen operations.
• Attention to detail.
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers.
• A versatile and hard-working person with a practical hands-on approach.

Responsibilities

• Examine foodstuffs to ensure quality.
• Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment.
• Prepare and cook food.
• Season food during cooking.
• Portion food, place on plates, and add gravies, sauces and garnishes.
• Store food in temperature controlled facilities.
• Prepare food to meet special dietary requirements.
• Plan menus and estimate food requirements.
• May train other kitchen staff and apprentices.

We are looking for a self- motivated, English speaking, articulate person to fill the role of Cook within our company. Job duties:

• examining foodstuffs to ensure quality
• regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
• preparing and cooking food
• seasoning food during cooking
• portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
• storing food in temperature controlled facilities
• preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
• may plan menus and estimate food requirements
• may train other kitchen staff and apprentices

Skills and experience Required:
