North Coast Engineering and Mechanical in Cairns is seeking an experienced boilermaker to join a small, close-knit team that values quality tradesmanship and practical contributions.

You will fabricate, assemble and repair plant, equipment and vessels, interpret blueprints, operate welding equipment, and maintain high safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Documented boilermaker experience.
• Experience with FCAW (flux-core) welding.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints/technical drawings.
• High standard of welding quality and pass weld test.
• Relevant trade qualifications or certs.

Responsibilities

• Engage in fabrication, assembly and repair of plant, equipment and vessels.
• Interpret and apply detailed blueprints and technical drawings.
• Use heavy-duty hand tools, power tools and welding equipment proficiently.
• Maintain safety and quality standards in all tasks.
• Collaborate with team to meet project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage in the fabrication, assembly, and repair of various plant, equipment, and vessels
• Interpret and apply detailed blueprints and technical drawings
• Demonstrate proficiency in utilising heavy-duty hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
• Ensure that all work adheres to stringent safety and quality standards
• Collaborate effectively with team members to meet and exceed project deadlines

Requirements:

• Documented experience as a boilermaker
• Experience in FCAW (flux-core) welding is required
• Successful applicants must demonstrate a high standard of welding and pass a pre-employment weld test
• Comprehensive knowledge of welding techniques and heavy metal fabrication
• Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
• A strong attention to detail and a dedication to quality
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently
