Job summary

Field Mining Services is seeking a Fabricator for our Paget workshop in Mackay. You will perform light to heavy steel fabrication, read drawings, and assemble major components. Work with a skilled crew in a modern, well-equipped workshop with exposure to mining, construction, ports, and marine projects.

• Light to heavy steel fabrication
• Experience with plate work, structural steel, and complex assemblies
• Reading and interpreting engineering and fabrication drawings
• Assembly and welding of large components
• Use of overhead cranes, forklifts, and workshop equipment
• Cutting, gouging, and preparation of materials
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety, and quality

The successful applicant, will have:

• Current driver's licence (preferred)
• High-risk tickets an advantage (forklift, crane, dogging, rigging)
• Must be able to weld to 9606.1 standards and pass weld test
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A strong focus on safety and quality
• Problem solving and decision-making skills
• Great communication and interpersonal skills
