InTown Centre Bunbury seeks a capable leader to head day-to-day operations, delivering services with a focus on safety, welcome and inclusivity. You will oversee staff and volunteers, manage budgets and governance, and drive community partnerships to achieve strategic outcomes.
The role combines people leadership with program delivery, financial oversight and continuous improvement, within a supportive, values-driven organisation.
InTown Centre is a welcoming community space in the heart of Bunbury, providing meals, practical assistance, connection and support to people experiencing vulnerability, hardship or social isolation.
But we're about much more than a meal. We're about creating a place where people feel seen, heard, respected and valued, and where dignity and belonging are part of everyday life.
Reporting to the Board of Management through the Chairperson, you'll lead the day-to-day operations of InTown Centre while helping turn our strategic direction into meaningful outcomes.
This is a hands-on leadership role combining people management, service delivery, financial oversight, governance and community engagement.
Creating a positive client experience by ensuring our services remain welcoming, inclusive, safe and responsive to community needs.
Leading and supporting employees and volunteers while fostering a respectful, collaborative and psychologically safe culture.
Managing operations, overseeing daily activities, programs, facilities, resources and service quality.
Governance and financial accountability through the management of operational budgets, financial administration, reporting, compliance, workplace safety and risk within approved delegations.
Grants and funding accountability, identifying funding opportunities, coordinating applications and funded initiatives, monitoring expenditure and ensuring funding conditions, reporting requirements and acquittals are met.
Building meaningful connections by strengthening relationships with community organisations, service providers, funding partners and stakeholders.
Driving continuous improvement by bringing curiosity, initiative and fresh thinking to support cultural development, enhance services and identify new opportunities.
This isn't a role where you'll spend every day behind a desk. You'll be present, engaged and connected to the people and relationships that make InTown Centre what it is.
We're interested in the person behind the resume, as well as the experience they bring.
You'll be someone who balances compassion with accountability, fresh ideas with practical action, and people-focused leadership with sound organisational management.
Demonstrated leadership or management experience, including supporting employees and volunteers.
Strong communication, relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
Sound organisational, administrative and financial management capabilities.
The ability to manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgement and work autonomously.
A genuine commitment to inclusive, person-centred services for people experiencing vulnerability or hardship.
A collaborative approach, curiosity and confidence to identify opportunities for improvement.
Experience in community services, not-for-profit operations, grant management, community partnerships or volunteer coordination will be highly regarded, as will relevant qualifications.
Above all, we're looking for someone who can lead with both heart and capability.
This is an opportunity to make a tangible difference while helping shape the future of an established community organisation.
You'll work alongside a committed Board, employees and volunteers, contribute to a positive workplace culture, strengthen community partnerships and help turn new ideas into meaningful outcomes.
You'll also have access to salary sacrificing opportunities, subject to applicable taxation legislation, eligibility and organisational arrangements.
This is a full-time position (38 hours per week), based at InTown Centre in Bunbury and classified at Level 5 under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS Award). Remuneration and employment entitlements will be provided in accordance with the applicable Award and legislation.
The role is primarily based at the Centre from 7:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with remaining ordinary hours allocated to meetings, community engagement, networking and other operational requirements.
The successful applicant will be required to meet relevant pre-employment requirements, including a National Police Clearance, Working with Children Check and pre-employment medical assessment. First Aid and CPR certification, along with any additional mandatory training, will also be required.
InTown Centre is committed to a welcoming, respectful and inclusive environment. We encourage applications from people with diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives.
