Job summary

Workfast is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our Recycling and Waste Management team in New Chum, QLD. The role requires operating 5t-40t excavators and front end loaders, with a focus on safety and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

You will perform pre-start checks, operate grapples, and coordinate with site supervisors to meet production targets while adhering to safety standards. A current RII Excavator Ticket / VOC and a valid Australian driver's licence are required.

Qualifications

• Experience operating excavators in waste, recycling, quarry, or similar environments.
• Experience using grapple/grab attachments is essential.
• Experience working stockpiles and off the face is desirable.
• RII Excavator Ticket / VOC is required.
• Valid Australian Driver's Licence and full working rights.

Responsibilities

• Operate 5t-40t excavators and Front end loaders safely within a recycling and waste management environment.
• Use grab/grapple attachments to sort, move and manage waste and recyclable materials.
• Conduct daily pre-start checks and basic machine maintenance.
• Load and move materials while maintaining production targets and site safety standards.
• Follow site policies and safety regulations.
