Job summary

Workfast is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our Recycling and Waste Management team in New Chum QLD. You will operate 5t–40t excavators, use grapple attachments to sort waste and recyclables, and perform trenching, backfilling and final trim with a strong emphasis on safety and production targets.

A current RII Excavator Ticket/VOC and a valid Australian driver’s licence are required. Joining our team means steady work across multiple projects with upskilling opportunities and

Qualifications

• Experience operating excavators in waste, recycling, quarry or similar environments.
• Experience using grapple/grab attachments is essential.
• Experience working with stockpiles and off the face.
• Current RII Excavator Ticket / VOC is required.
• Valid Australian Driver's Licence and full working rights.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol test.

Responsibilities

• Operate 5t - 40t excavators safely and efficiently in a recycling/waste environment.
• Use grapple/grab attachments to sort, move and manage waste and recyclables.
• Perform trenching, benching, backfilling and final trim.
• Work at stockpiles and off the face with safety-first approach.
• Load and move materials while meeting production targets and site safety.
• Conduct daily pre-start checks and basic machine maintenance.
• Collaborate with supervisors and site personnel for smooth operations.
• Follow site policies, procedures and safety regulations.
• Assist with additional site duties when required.
