Job summary

Workfast is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our Recycling and Waste Management team in Acacia Ridge, QLD. You will operate 5t-40t excavators and front end loaders, use grapple attachments to sort and move waste, and support trenching and stockpile operations while maintaining safety and production targets.

Required: current RII Excavator Ticket / VOC, a valid Australian driver's licence, reliable transport, and the ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol tests.

• Experience using grapple/grab attachments.
• Current RII Excavator Ticket / VOC.

Responsibilities

• Operate 5t–40t excavators and front end loaders safely and efficiently.
• Use grapple/grab attachments to sort, move and manage waste materials.
• Perform trenching, benching, backfilling and final trim tasks.
• Work on stockpiles and off the face with safe operating procedures.
• Load materials while meeting production targets and site safety standards.
• Conduct daily pre-start checks and basic machine maintenance.
• Collaborate with supervisors and site personnel for smooth operations.
• Adhere to all site policies and safety regulations.
• Assist with additional site duties when required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate 5t - 40t excavators and Front end loaders, safely and efficiently within a recycling and waste management environment.
• Use grab/grapple attachments to sort, move and manage waste and recyclable materials.

What You Bring to the Team:

• Previous experience operating excavators in waste, recycling, quarry, or similar environments.
• Experience using grapple/grab attachments is essential.
• Experience working stockpiles and off the face.
• Current RII Excavator Ticket / VOC required.
• Valid Australian Driver's Licence and full working rights.
• Must have reliable transport.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol test.
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
• A positive attitude and reliable work ethic.
