Job summary

Jobplay is seeking an experienced excavator operator for ongoing work in Brisbane. The ideal candidate can get on a machine and be productive from day one with clean, accurate work, good machine awareness, and judgment to know when to stop and ask for guidance.

Applicants must hold a current LF forklift licence alongside their excavator ticket and have full working rights in Australia, with own reliable transport to reach site by 5:30am.

Qualifications

• Proven excavator experience required.
• Excavator competency (RIIMPO320F or VOC) required.
• Current LF forklift High Risk Work Licence required.
• Current White Card required.
• Ability to work to levels, marks and plans.
• Full working rights in Australia required.
• Own reliable transport to site.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavator up to 10 tonnes.
• Trenching with hammer and buckets.
• Work around underground services and locate/pothole per DBYD plans.
• Coordinate with spotters, dogmen and ground crew; communicate clearly on site.
• Change and run attachments (buckets, tilt bucket, auger, rock breaker, grab).
• Load/unload trucks and move materials around site on the forklift.
• Daily pre-starts, greasing, fault reporting and basic machine maintenance.
• Keep the site tidy, safe and compliant (JSAs, SWMS, toolbox talks).

This is a seat for someone who can get on a machine and be productive from day one — clean, accurate work, good machine awareness, and the judgement to know when to stop and ask.

Because this site also needs product moved and loaded, we need someone who holds a current LF forklift licence alongside their excavator ticket.

What you'll be doing

• Operating excavator [<10 Tonne]
• Trenching, using hammer and buckets
• Working around underground services — locating, potholing and working safely to DBYD plans
• Working with spotters, dogmen and ground crew, and communicating clearly on site
• Changing and running attachments — buckets, tilt bucket, auger, rock breaker, grab [ADJUST]
• Loading and unloading trucks and moving materials around site on the forklift
• Daily pre-starts, greasing, fault reporting and basic machine maintenance
• Keeping the site tidy, safe and compliant — JSAs, SWMS, toolbox talks

What you'll need

• Proven excavator experience
• Excavator competency — RII unit (e.g. RIIMPO320F) or a current VOC / ticket we can sight
• Current LF forklift High Risk Work Licence
• Current White Card
• Confident working to levels, marks and plans
• Good machine sympathy — you look after the gear
• Full working rights in Australia
• Own reliable transport and the ability to get to site for a 5:30am start

A bonus, not essential:

• Other tickets — LO (order picker), skid steer, roller, dozer, telehandler, MR/HR
• Dogging or traffic control ticket
• Experience with GPS machine control / 2D or 3D systems
• Service locating, drainage, sewer or water experience
• Confined space, working at heights, or first aid
