Job summary

Sabo’s Excavation Pty Ltd in Newcastle is seeking an experienced excavator operator to work on residential and small commercial sites. You will operate machines from 3.5t to 14t, perform pool excavations, site cuts, trenching, and drainage with care.

You'll load and cart spoil, drive tipper trucks between sites, and carry out pre-starts and basic maintenance. Ability to work independently and follow plans and WHS rules is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience operating excavators 3.5t–14t
• Residential pool excavation experience
• Ability to work to plans and WHS requirements
• Willingness to perform general site duties

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators from 3.5t to 14t, skid steer and other earthmoving equipment
• Carry out residential pool excavations, including tight-access and detailed digging
• Site cuts, trenching, footings, drainage and general excavation
• Load, cart and dispose of spoil and materials
• Drive tipper trucks between job sites, suppliers and disposal facilities
• Float/move plant and equipment where appropriately licensed and experienced
• Work around existing services and structures with care
• Complete daily pre-starts and basic maintenance on trucks and machinery
• Keep trucks, machines and work areas clean and presentable
• Work independently, manage day-to-day site tasks and maintain productivity
• Follow plans, levels, site instructions and WHS requirements
• Assist with general site duties when required
