Job summary

The Event Mill in Perth is seeking an experienced Event Coordinator & Assistant Venue Manager to drive event sales, promote the venue, and oversee function planning in a busy entertainment venue. You will manage a team of duty managers, bar staff, and performers, coordinate with the kitchen and management, and ensure first-class customer service.

A salary package of 90K–100K AUD plus incentives is offered; weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Extensive function coordinator and sales experience.
• Experience managing venue procedures and stock control.
• Available weekends, Friday and Saturday nights.
• Previous hospitality, restaurant or club sales experience an advantage.
• Able to train staff and lead by example.

Job description

One of Perth’s best water front venues has an exciting opportunity for someone to take on the role of Event Coordinator & Assistant Venue Manager.

The position will involve event sales and promotions, overseeing function planning whilst working in a close team environment. Managing staff consisting of duty managers, bar staff, glassies, security, band members and DJ’s.

The successful applicant must have extensive function coordinator & sales experience along with management of venue procedures and stock control. The applicant will also need to be available weekends across both Friday and Saturday nights when required.

Previous proven sales experience in hospitality, restaurant or club an advantage.

Approved Manager qualification

Ability to train staff and lead by example

A good level of computer literacy with knowledge of function tracker

Familiar with operating POS System and Eftpos

Experience in setting up events and liaising with kitchen and management

A desire to provide first class customer service and a positive work environment

Have a sound understanding of the Liquor Licensing Act and the Directors Policies

This is a admin and hands-on role and requires a person who likes to keep busy and further their skills and experience in running a large entertainment venue. Your working week will be a mixture of sales, planning and venue management.
