Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate project cost estimates in line with pricing templates and target gross margins.
• Maintain and update pricing templates for new jobs.
• Conduct triage calls to ensure accurate scope and understanding.
• Follow onsite sales scripts during appointments to ensure consistency and professionalism.
• Send and follow up on quotes within designated timeframe using approved scripts.
• Verify supplier pricing to ensure accuracy with SimPro.
• Complete project handover checklists with Operations Manager.
• Participate in coaching sessions with the Operations Manager.

Total Mechanical & Electrical (TME) is a growing, family-operated trades business based in Temora, delivering high-quality Electrical, Air Conditioning and Solar work across the Riverina — from maintenance through to residential, commercial and industrial construction.

We're looking for an Estimator to help us deliver accurate, timely project cost estimates across every job that comes through the door. Working under supervision alongside our Operations Manager and CEO, you'll prepare detailed costings using our pricing templates and target margins, scope jobs through triage calls, verify supplier pricing against SimPro, and keep our quoting process moving — across domestic, commercial, industrial and rural work.

This is a genuine opportunity for someone with a sharp eye for detail and a head for numbers, who wants to build real expertise in estimating within a supportive, growing trades business.

Key Duties

• Prepare accurate project cost estimates in line with company pricing templates and target gross profit margins


• Maintain and update pricing templates for new jobs


• Conduct triage calls for all relevant jobs to ensure accurate scope and understanding


• Follow onsite sales scripts during appointments to ensure consistency and professionalism


• Send and follow up on all quotes within the designated timeframe, using the approved follow-up script


• Verify supplier pricing to ensure accuracy and consistency with SimPro


• Complete project handover checklists in collaboration with the Operations Manager


• Participate in regular coaching sessions with the Operations Manager

Key Requirements

• Previous experience in estimating, quantity surveying, or a trades/construction environment preferred but not essential


• Sound understanding of electrical, HVAC and/or related trade processes (or willingness to learn quickly)


• Strong numeracy and attention to detail for accurate costing


• Confident communicator, comfortable liaising with clients, suppliers and trades


• Ability to manage multiple quotes and deadlines simultaneously


• Experience with estimating or job management software (SimPro experience highly regarded)
