Job summary

Veritas Recruitment is seeking an Estimator for a growing construction services client in Melbourne. You will review drawings, perform quantity take-offs, calculate labour and material costs, and assist with tender submissions.

The ideal candidate is numerically minded, detail-focused and well-organised, with strong communication skills and a desire to build a long-term career in estimating. A manual driver's licence is required.

• Reviewing construction drawings, specifications and tender documentation
• Completing quantity take-offs and measurements
• Calculating labour and material costs
• Assisting with quotations and tender submissions
• Following up on tenders and quotations
• Preparing exclusions and tender clarifications
• Assisting with RFIs and gathering information required for pricing
• Working closely with estimating, project and technical teams
• Assisting with the handover of successful tenders to the project team
• Managing multiple tenders and priorities in an organised and timely manner

Our client is a growing construction services business seeking a motivated and detail-focused Estimator to join their team.

Working closely with the estimating, project and technical teams, you'll play an important role in preparing accurate and competitive tenders and quotations.

Skills & experience:

• Able to read and interpret construction drawings, or has a strong willingness to learn
• Numerically confident with strong attention to detail
• Confident using Excel and general computer systems
• Highly organised and able to manage multiple tenders
• A good communicator who works well with different teams
• Positive, proactive and willing to learn
• Interested in developing a long-term career within estimating
• Manual drivers licence
