Job summary

Power Solutions in Brisbane is seeking an experienced Commercial Electrical Estimator who loves the thrill of the chase and delivers more than just a price on a page for our clients. You will hunt down opportunities, manage tenders, price, value-engineer and develop delivery methodology for construct-only and D&C projects, then hand over to delivery teams.

Fully qualified electrician with strong Simpro experience and keen eye for detail is essential; join a growing, family-owned business focused

• Fully qualified electrician who has worked from apprentice to site lead before estimating.

• Manage project pipeline; identify which jobs to price and plan accordingly.
• Project estimation, tender package development and submission; price, value-engineer and develop methodology for construct-only and D&C projects.
• Actively manage tenders following submission to secure the box seat.
• Manage the project handover process from estimation to project management; conduct handover meetings and ensure documents are accessible.
• Continually learn through monthly tender reporting and review performance in delivery phase.
• Stay at the forefront of industry innovations and seek better ways of doing things.

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced electrical estimator (& qualified electrician) who loves the thrill of the chase, has a keen eye for detail and who can deliver more than just a price on a page for our clients. Ultimately you will be responsible for hunting down, managing and securing opportunities to set our delivery teams up for every success.

Key responsibilities

• Scope current and prospect clients – identify, research & assess fit with our company values, revenue and profit objectives
• Manage our project pipeline - identify which jobs to price and why & plan accordingly to ensure a consistent but sustainable flow of projects for our delivery teams
• Project estimation, tender package development & submission – your bread and butter - use your advanced estimating experience and established industry connections to price, value-engineer and develop methodology for both construct-only and D&C projects; deliver more than a price on a page - be the expert our clients rely on
• Actively manage your tenders following submission to secure the box seat

• Manage the project handover process from estimating to project management, including handover meetings and ensuring all documents and information is accessible
• Continually learn through monthly reporting on your tenders (including strike rate and estimating learnings) and stay connected with how your estimates are tracking in the delivery phase by reviewing internal project performance reports and attending post-PC meetings
• Stay at the forefront of industry innovations and opportunities - seek out and be open to better ways of doing things

About you

• Fully qualified electrician - ideally you've worked your way up from apprentice to site lead before moving into an estimating role
• At least three years estimating experience with Simpro
• Comfortable, professional and strong written and oral communicator
• Commitment to the mutual success of themselves and Power Solutions
• High attention to detail and crave satisfaction in their work
