Lead Group is seeking an experienced HVAC Estimator in Sydney's Sutherland Shire region. The role focuses on preparing accurate estimates for commercial HVAC installations and tender submissions, with responsibilities spanning material take-offs, labour calculations, and full tender management.

The successful candidate will interpret drawings, qualify pricing for VRV/VRF systems and collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers to ensure seamless handovers.

Qualifications

• HVAC estimating experience required.
• Experience pricing commercial HVAC fit-outs, refurbishments or new-build projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems and ability to produce full estimates and take-offs.
• Confidence interpreting mechanical drawings and specs; manage tender deadlines.

This is an established and growing HVAC contractor based in Sydney's Sutherland Shire is looking for an experienced HVAC Estimator to join their team.

With a strong pipeline of commercial projects and continued business growth, this is an opportunity to take ownership of the estimating function and work closely with an experienced team of in-house Project Managers and Engineers.

The business delivers a variety of projects, including commercial fit-outs, pubs, clubs, refurbishments and occasional high-end residential installations.

For someone with the right background, there may also be scope to combine estimating responsibilities with project management.

The Role Reporting into the wider management team, you'll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for HVAC installation projects ranging from approximately $50K to $800K+, with typical projects around $200K.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing detailed HVAC estimates, quotations and tender submissions.
• Completing material take-offs, labour calculations and project costings.
• Managing the full tender process from initial enquiry through to submission.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Pricing commercial HVAC installations, including VRV/VRF systems, split systems and associated mechanical services.
• Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
• Working closely with in-house Project Managers and Engineers to ensure smooth project handovers.
• Managing multiple tenders simultaneously, typically 5–6 depending on project complexity.
• Identifying opportunities to improve estimating processes and project profitability.

About You

We're looking for someone who understands commercial HVAC installations and can confidently put together accurate estimates. you'll bring:

• HVAC estimating experience
• Experience pricing commercial HVAC fit-outs, refurbishments or new-build projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems
• Ability to complete full estimates and material take-offs independently.
• Confidence interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing tender deadlines.
• Experience with Simpro would be highly regarded.
• A background in HVAC installation, project delivery or mechanical services.
