Job summary

RPR Trades in Melbourne seeks an experienced Estimator to join its Carrum Downs team. You will prepare accurate estimates and quotations across industrial doors projects, review customer requirements and drawings, and manage the estimating process from start to submission.

You will work directly with the Director, help improve internal systems, and contribute to CRM implementation. The small team offers a supportive environment with a busy, detail-focused role.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Estimator in industrial doors, commercial doors, cold storage doors or high-speed door industries.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Strong numerical, analytical and attention-to-detail skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience implementing or working with CRM systems would be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates and quotations for industrial door projects.
• Review customer enquiries, specifications, drawings and project requirements to determine scope of works.
• Calculate material, labour, equipment and associated project costs.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and confirm product specifications.
• Identify potential cost variations, risks and project requirements during the estimating process.
• Prepare and submit professional quotations within required timeframes.
• Follow up on submitted quotations and liaise with customers regarding pricing and project requirements.
• Work closely with the Director and internal team to ensure estimates are accurate and commercially competitive.
• Assist with improving estimating processes, systems and documentation.
• Contribute to the selection and implementation of a CRM system to support business operations and customer management.

About the Opportunity

An established specialist business within the industrial door industry is seeking an experienced Estimator to join its team in Carrum Downs on a permanent, full-time basis.

The business specialises in industrial doors, cold storage doors and high-speed door solutions, servicing a range of commercial and industrial customers.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join a small, close-knit team, working directly with the Director and playing an important role in the estimating and quoting process.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Director, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates and quotations across a range of industrial door projects.

You will manage the estimating process from reviewing customer requirements and technical specifications through to preparing and submitting detailed quotations.

The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute to improving internal systems and processes, including assisting with the selection and implementation of a CRM system.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience as an Estimator within the industrial doors, commercial doors, cold storage doors or high-speed door industry.
• Strong understanding of estimating, costing and quotation preparation.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Strong numerical, analytical and attention-to-detail skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple quotations and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong computer skills and confidence using estimating and business software.
• Experience implementing or working with CRM systems would be highly regarded.
