Resourceful Recruitment’s client in South Brisbane is seeking a capable Estimator to price industrial construction projects from $1m to $7m and maintenance work from $50k to $500k. You’ll work with operations, PMs and in-house engineers to develop accurate, competitive estimates in Excel.

The role requires 3+ years’ estimation experience, advanced Excel skills and the ability to read drawings. This is a permanent, full-time position with a practical team on the Northern Gold Coast corridor.

Formación

• 3+ years’ experience as an Estimator in mechanical, structural, fabrication or industrial construction.
• Advanced Excel skills and a highly organised, structured approach.
• Experience pricing Lump Sum, Schedule of Rates or Cost Plus work.
• Able to read drawings and interpret technical scopes.
• Strong common sense and attention to detail.
• Confident sourcing suppliers and negotiating pricing.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for new build and maintenance projects using structured Excel models.
• Review scopes, specifications and drawings to understand project requirements.
• Complete quantity take-offs and price labour, materials, plant and subcontractors.
• Request and assess quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, and build a strong supplier network.
• Prepare tender submissions, pricing schedules and clarifications.
• Price variations and changes of scope for live projects.
• Work with engineering and project teams to make sure estimates are practical and buildable.
• Hand projects over clearly to the delivery team when they’re awarded.
• Maintain cost databases and help improve estimating processes.

Our client is a well-established specialist contractor on the Northern Gold Coast. They deliver tailored mechanical and structural infrastructure solutions for industrial clients across Australia and New Zealand. Everything is done in house, including engineering, drafting, design and site delivery. A strong pipeline of national work means they’re growing the team and need a capable Estimator to help win the next round of projects.

About the Role

You’ll be the go-to person for pricing new industrial construction projects from $1m to $7m and maintenance work from $50k to $500k. You’ll work closely with the Operations Manager, project managers and in-house engineers to turn scopes and drawings into accurate, competitive estimates.

This role suits a structured thinker who enjoys building a quote properly in Excel and brings plenty of practical common sense. Your estimates will directly shape the work the business wins and delivers.
