Job summary

Trifecta Recruitment is partnering with a national builder in Melbourne to appoint an experienced Senior Estimator for the New Build Division. You will lead end-to-end estimating, tendering and cost planning for diverse Commercial projects valued up to $50M, collaborating with senior leadership to secure opportunities.

You will review drawings and tender docs, manage subcontractor pricing and identify value engineering opportunities, while mentoring junior team members and contributing to

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator in a Commercial head contractor.
• Experience estimating Commercial new build construction projects.
• Experience across Industrial, Commercial, Retail or Government new build projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, structural trades, subcontractor procurement and cost planning.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage tenders from initial review through to final submission.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end estimating and tendering process for Commercial new build projects valued between $20M and $50M.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, tender submissions and budgets for upcoming projects.
• Review drawings, specifications and tender docs to identify requirements, risks and opportunities.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier enquiries, pricing comparisons and trade package assessments.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and develop competitive tender strategies.
• Collaborate with preconstruction, project delivery and senior management for accurate submissions.
• Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Contribute to improving estimating systems and tendering processes.
• Provide guidance to junior estimators as required.

Due to continued growth within their New Build Division, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Senior Estimator to join their Melbourne team, offering the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and play a key role in securing upcoming projects.

Your New Role

• Manage the end-to-end estimating and tendering process across a diverse range of Commercial new build projects valued between $20M and $50M.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, tender submissions and budgets for upcoming projects.
• Review architectural and structural drawings, specifications and tender documentation to identify project requirements, risks and opportunities.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier enquiries, pricing comparisons and trade package assessments.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and develop competitive tender strategies to improve project outcomes.
• Work closely with the preconstruction, project delivery and senior management teams to ensure accurate tender submissions and successful project handovers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and key stakeholders.
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of estimating systems, processes and tendering strategies.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior members of the estimating team where required.

What You Need To Succeed

• Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator working for a Commercial head contractor.
• Strong experience estimating Commercial new build construction projects.
• Experience across Industrial, Commercial, Retail or Government new build projects will be highly regarded.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, structural trades, subcontractor procurement and cost planning.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage tenders from initial review through to final submission.
• Relevant qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong commercial awareness, attention to detail and the ability to identify project risks and opportunities.
• A proactive and collaborative approach with the ability to manage multiple tenders and competing deadlines.
