Job summary

St John of God Geelong Hospital – Geelong VIC is seeking a reliable Unit Receptionist for the busy Emergency Department. This permanent part-time role offers up to 30 hours per fortnight and includes night shifts, so flexibility and overnight availability are essential.

You will welcome patients and families, manage appointments, answer calls, and provide high-level secretarial support while liaising with clinicians and other health professionals.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and experience in the health industry is a must.
• Ability to deliver exceptional customer service face-to-face and via telephone.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming and assisting patients and visitors in the Emergency Department.
• Managing appointments and maintaining an efficient waiting room.
• Answering calls promptly and professionally and providing admin support.
• Liaising with clinicians, referrers, and healthcare providers.
• Maintaining patient records, data confidentiality, and correspondence.
