About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Equitable Learning Supportworker to join the team at GOTAFE. In this role, you will provide academic and learning support to students with disability. The primary focus of the role is to support student independence by developing and implementing strategies that build effective learning, study and organisational skills. You will work collaboratively with students to understand their individual needs, promote their strengths and support them to develop their skills and confidence.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking flexible part-time work while making a meaningful difference to the educational experience and outcomes of students with disability.

About you

You will bring:

  • A minimum of Certificate IV level in Disability with recent relevant experience or,
  • An equivalent qualification with extensive experience in the relevant field of disabilities.
  • Recent related experience and/or qualifications in human sciences, with adult literacy and numeracy skills will be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the rules, standards and regulations that apply within the Disability Support sector.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work or liaise with people in a range of settings.
