Job summary

SESA Safety & Environmental Services Australia – Moorebank NSW is seeking an experienced microbiology analyst to join SESALAB (NATA Accredited) providing analytical services for mould and bacteria in environmental samples, as well as asbestos analysis of bulk samples and soil.

You will conduct field work, including site inspections, sampling of bulk materials, surfaces, air and water for microbiological contaminants and hazardous materials, and develop skills in occupational hygiene consulting.

Qualifications

3+ years experience in a similar microbiology role.
Experience analysing moulds, yeasts and bacteria in environmental samples.
Familiar with Legionella, E. coli and coliforms testing.
Ability to write and maintain laboratory SOPs and reports.
Calibration and maintenance of lab equipment."
Understanding of ISO 17025 and contributing to lab quality manuals.
Experience in field sampling and site inspections.

Responsibilities

Analyse environmental microbiology samples in the SESALAB lab.
Prepare cultures, plating, slides mounting, microscopy and organism identification.
Analyse Legionella, E. coli, coliforms in environmental samples.
Write and maintain laboratory SOPs and analytical reports.
Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.
Process lab data and prepare detailed analytical reports.
Conduct field sampling and site inspections as required.
Assist in occupational hygiene consulting activities.
