Job summary

Environmental Group Australia (EGA) seeks a Laboratory Technician to join our new environmental laboratory in Sydney. You will receive hands-on training in asbestos fibre counting (PCM) and air monitoring, preparing samples, recording results, and reporting findings under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager.

This full-time, permanent role offers structured training, career growth, and exposure to a NATA-accredited environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science or Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques.
• Experience in a NATA-accredited laboratory preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Process-driven and able to follow technical methods and procedures.
• Comfortable performing precise, repetitive work with concentration.

Responsibilities

• Receive, prepare and analyze airborne fibre samples.
• Perform PCM fibre counting.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.
• Complete QC checks and document results.
• Follow approved laboratory methods, safety requirements and quality procedures.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and contribute to laboratory development.
