SESA Safety & Environmental Services Australia – Moorebank NSW is seeking an experienced microbiology analyst to join SESALAB (NATA Accredited) providing analytical services for mould and bacteria in environmental samples, as well as asbestos analysis of bulk samples and soil.

You will conduct field work, including site inspections, sampling of bulk materials, surfaces, air and water for microbiological contaminants and hazardous materials, and develop skills in occupational hygiene consulting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in a similar microbiology role.
• Experience analysing moulds, yeasts and bacteria in environmental samples.
• Familiar with Legionella, E. coli and coliforms testing.
• Ability to write and maintain laboratory SOPs and reports.
• Calibration and maintenance of lab equipment."
• Understanding of ISO 17025 and contributing to lab quality manuals.
• Experience in field sampling and site inspections.

Responsabilités

• Analyse environmental microbiology samples in the SESALAB lab.
• Prepare cultures, plating, slides mounting, microscopy and organism identification.
• Analyse Legionella, E. coli, coliforms in environmental samples.
• Write and maintain laboratory SOPs and analytical reports.

• Process lab data and prepare detailed analytical reports.
• Conduct field sampling and site inspections as required.

SESA – Safety & Environmental Services Australia is looking for an experienced microbiology analyst to join our small friendly team at SESALAB (NATA Accredited) providing analytical services for mould and bacteria (environmental microbiology samples) as well as asbestos analysis of bulk samples and soil.

To complement the lab work, you will enjoy doing field work including inspection of various sites, sampling of bulk materials, surfaces, air and water for microbiological contaminants and hazardous materials and gain skills in occupational hygiene consulting services.

To be considered for this role you will ideally have:

A relevant tertiary qualification in microbiology, environmental microbiology, aerobiology, environmental science or a related field

Experience in analysing microbiology samples, preparation of cultures (mould, yeast, bacteria), plating, slides mounting, optical microscopy and identification

Experience in analysis of Legionella, E. Coli, Coliforms and other bacteria in environmental samples

Experience in writing and maintaining laboratory standard operating procedures

Calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment

Understanding of ISO 17025 standard and contribute to ongoing improvements of laboratory procedures and the laboratory quality manual

Processing of laboratory data, records and preparation of analytical reports

Ability to undertake field sampling, building inspections and prepare detailed assessment reports

Laboratory supervisor experience is an advantage

Business development experience will be highly regarded
