Job summary

St Mary's Cathedral College Sydney, part of Sydney Catholic Schools, is seeking an experienced English Teacher for Years 7–12 to join a faith-filled learning community on a temporary full-time leave cover from 26 October 2026 to 20 November 2026.

You will bring exemplary classroom practice, differentiation, and a commitment to leveraging technology to enhance learning; NESA accreditation and a tertiary Education qualification are essential.

• Exemplary classroom practice and experience in teaching English to Stages 4-6.
• Dynamic and innovative teaching with experience in programming and assessment.

St Mary's Cathedral College Sydney is seeking to appoint an experienced and passionate English Teacher. This is a temporary full-time leave cover position, commencing Monday, 26 October 2026 until Friday, 20 November 2026.

About You

As an English Teacher (Years 7-12), you will inspire students through engaging, student-centered teaching within a Catholic learning environment. You'll bring:

• an exemplary classroom practice and experience in Teaching Stages 4-6 English
• a dynamic and innovative practice with suitable experience in teaching, programming and assessment
• an ability to differentiate the curriculum to meet the diverse learning needs of the students
• sound interpersonal skills and a willingness to work collaboratively as a team member
• confidence with the integration of technology into the curriculum to promote quality learning principles
• an understanding and an ability to support the Catholic life of the College
• a tertiary qualification in Education and NESA accreditation.
