Job summary

Coates is seeking an Engineering Solutions Specialist to join our South Australian team, blending technical engineering know-how with commercial instinct to solve customer challenges and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.

You will collaborate with customers, the broader sales and engineering teams, and support project delivery from concept through to completion while driving growth and safety in all interactions.

Qualifications

• Experience in technical sales, engineering solutions or solution-based selling.
• Industry experience within construction, civil infrastructure, water management, utilities or related sectors.
• The ability to understand customer challenges and develop practical, fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Experience working with engineers, contractors and project stakeholders.
• Strong commercial mindset with a focus on growth, profitability and customer outcomes.
• Excellent relationship-building, communication and presentation skills.
• A proactive, customer-focused approach and strong problem-solving ability.
• Commitment to safety and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Drive growth across Coates' Engineering Solutions products and services.
• Work collaboratively with customers to understand project requirements and develop fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Support projects from concept, design and specification through to delivery and completion.
• Collaborate with design and temporary works engineers to deliver technically sound and commercially viable outcomes.
• Build strong relationships with contractors, consultants, engineers and project stakeholders.
• Identify new customer opportunities and emerging market trends.
• Provide product knowledge, technical guidance and training to sales and operational teams.
• Support the introduction and implementation of new products and solutions.
• Champion Coates' Safety First culture in all customer and stakeholder interactions.
