Job summary

TAL Australia is seeking an Engineering Manager - Policy Servicing to lead the Engineering and Support Leads responsible for PAS, Life400, CLOAS and EthIL/ILSA. You will ensure platform health, availability, and recoverability in a regulated life insurance context, while driving DevOps, DevSecOps and AI-enabled development practices.

The role focuses on incident management, disaster recovery, lifecycle planning and alignment with strategic direction for Life400 and related platforms.

Qualifications

• Experience leading software engineering and technology operations teams in a regulated environment.
• Coaching and developing technology teams with workforce planning and succession capability.
• Strong knowledge of production support, incident management, disaster recovery, technology risk and cyber vulnerabilities.
• Experience leading DevOps/DevSecOps transformation and adopting AI-enabled development practices within governance and risk controls.
• Excellent financial and vendor management skills with clear visibility of delivery, risk and investment priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead Engineering and Support Leads to build a high-performing, engaged workforce.
• Own health, availability, recoverability and sustainability of PAS, Life400, CLOAS and EthIL/ILSA including incident management and DR planning.
• Direct prioritisation, resourcing and BAU delivery of engineering requirements, including regulatory and remediation activities.
• Proactively manage technology risk, cyber vulnerabilities and technical debt while advancing DevOps and AI-enabled practices.
• Oversee vendor performance, costs and governance forum reporting.
